What does A bowling green construction advice SESSION with Bioscapes Group involve?
Clear Communications
At Bioscapes Group, we like to ensure that our clients are informed about their bowling green construction process from the very beginning. We prioritise clear, open communication to ensure that both our team and yours are on the same page. Our team like starting our consultation session with a clear discussion to ensure we understand the concept you would like for your bowling greens. Furthermore, we can also use this time to understand the issues you are facing with your current playing surface.
Project Walkthrough
To get a clear idea of the surrounding infrastructure of the green, we will take a walkthrough of the area you are looking to develop. This walkthrough will also discuss case scenarios and explore the ideal outcomes for the location as well as your budget expectations. We ensure that the bowling green construction advice is practical, and this is where Dave’s expertise comes in. Dave can help you prevent costly mistakes and brings forth cost-saving design ideas specific to your needs. In particular, we look at how we can eliminate unnecessary expenses by exploring the re-use of existing infrastructure to adhere to budget and sustainability goals.
Civil Requirements
In addition to looking at the initial concept and design ideas, we will also look at the practical requirements for the project. This involves a discussion around the civil requirements (including depths), accessibility, waste removal and OHS requirements. As part of these discussions, we will provide your team information on the following areas:
- Civil height requirements
- How the transition from pathways to play areas can be constructed to adhere to DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) and BCA (Building Code Australia)
- The drainage discharge point function – this is often overlooked causing significant issues post-construction
- Dangerous materials considerations i.e. asbestos in ditch walls
- Design considerations for size, drainage, safety and flow
Estimate
Once the consultation session has been completed, we will create a fully customised estimate for the agreed concept. We will send this estimate over to your team so you can review it and get back to us with any questions.
How your team can prepare for the consultation
We recommend planning for the consultation beforehand to ensure that you can make the best out of the session. Ideally, you would have a concept in mind for your new bowling green so we can discuss it on the day. Other preparations that can enhance this consultation include:
•Knowing your council permit requirements for access (if applicable)
•Getting a Geotechnical Report done for the site if applicable
•Knowing your waterway or coastal requirements for the site.
In particular, we will need to know high tide marks i.e. flood zones that may affect the construction.
We also recommend you make a list of questions you’d like to ask on the day. Dave will be more than happy to answer all of your questions and help you get started with the construction process! You may also be interested to read our list of common bowling green construction FAQ’s.
