Karingal Bowls Club
As the winter months of 2024 ended, Karingal Bowls Club in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs opened their brand new Greengauge GG3 Green.
SCOPE OF WORKS
This project involved replacing the club’s natural turf green with a high-quality synthetic surface, offering a more consistent, durable, and low-maintenance option for players. The newly constructed green, located alongside the venue’s iconic MakMax Skyedome, enhances Karingal Bowls Club’s reputation as a premier destination for lawn bowls events.
BEFORE & DURING
What’s a project without a few roadblocks to challenge us? Challenge accepted and overcome!
BIOScapes’ in-house construction team faced challenging weather conditions throughout the project, with Melbourne’s notoriously cold and wet winter putting pressure on the timeline. Despite the harsh conditions, the team worked tirelessly to ensure the project was completed on time without compromising quality.
A key part of the initial work involved the safe removal of asbestos from the existing natural turf green. BIOScapes adhered to all health and safety regulations during this process, ensuring the area was cleared and prepared for the new construction.
Significant earthworks were required to prepare the area, including the installation of essential infrastructure. Aligning the walls of the green, BIOScapes worked to create a seamless transition between the green and the surrounding areas, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the venue while ensuring the space was functional for spectators and players alike.
