We had the privilege of delivering a new pickleball court, bocce court, and synthetic bowling green at Stockland’s Thrive Halcyon community in Nirimba, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. . These new facilities sit alongside the award-winning clubhouse designed by DC8 Studios, giving residents more ways to stay active and connected.
From the ground up, our team managed each stage with care. We carried out safe earthworks, built concrete slab foundations, and used our engineered base system to ensure each surface was precise and durable. In addition, we completed the landscaping, surrounds, and coverings so the courts blend seamlessly into the community.
As a result, residents at Halcyon Nirimba now have modern, low-maintenance courts ready for year-round play. Whether it’s pickleball, bocce, or bowls, these spaces encourage fitness, fun, and social connection for years to come.
BEFORE & DURING BOCCE COURT CONSTRUCTION
We began with careful site planning and setup, ensuring a safe, organised start while prioritising quality and safety.
Next, we set the groundwork with precise sub-base preparation, then poured and finished a robust concrete slab for the bocce court foundation.
AFTER BOCCE COURT CONSTRUCTION
Then we added key layers—drainage and surface finishes—to create a smooth, durable, and well-drained playing area ready for final touches.
The completed bocce court now shows crisp concrete borders, fresh yellow sand, and neat landscaping, forming an inviting recreational space.
After final site clean-up and handover, the bocce court was ready for residents and the wider community to enjoy immediately.

Early works for the pickleball courts began with site setup, surveying, and careful sub-base shaping to ensure a solid, organised foundation.
In addition, the sub-base was prepared to specification, with moisture protection installed and F82 mesh reinforcement set for the concrete pour.
Then we poured the concrete slab and professionally finished it over a poly liner, forming a smooth, durable base for play.

We also installed black chain-mesh fencing to provide a safe, contained playing environment for users of all ages.
The finished pickleball courts feature vibrant, painted surfaces, completed to exacting standards for consistent play.
After a final clean-up, the new courts were handed over and made ready for immediate community use and enjoyment.

For the bowling green, the area was carefully cleared and levelled, with earthworks and initial trenches set out to establish the base.
Major construction then began: gravel was spread, drainage features were installed, and concrete pump trucks supported key pours.
Throughout the works, teamwork, access equipment, and careful detailing kept the project moving smoothly toward completion.
AFTER BOWLING GREEN CONSTRUCTION
Today the finished bowling green sits level and vibrant in the sun, framed by modern club buildings and tended landscaping.
Ultimately, the result is a welcoming, low-maintenance space—ready for the community to enjoy and create new memories.
