Traralgon Bowls Club

Taking on a project in winter can be tricky but our team were in their element as they worked with the Traralgon Bowls Club to transform their natural turf bowling green. Utilising our expert in-house team (who can do it all!), along with some brilliant local contractors, we constructed and delivered a high quality, cost effective synthetic bowling green & surrounds package. Bringing the club’s vision to life, this redevelopment was completed ahead of their inaugural hosting duties, of the Victorian Open.  

SCOPE OF WORKS

• De-commissioning the existing shade structures.
• Complete site cut and removal of existing natural turf bowling green, walls, footpaths etc.
• Planning and trenching for power, water, sewer and stormwater.
• Constructing a brand new Greengauge Woven Carpet Synthetic Green.
• Completing all the surrounding synthetic turf.
• Installing the surrounding concrete footpaths & ramp access (500+sqm).
• Constructing a new concrete sleeper retaining wall.
• Re-installing the shade structures and project handover.

BEFORE & DURING

TIMEFRAME

This project ran for 2 to 3 months in 2023.

For installation of surrounding and services works we utilised local contractors (A1 Group, BTA Plumbing and Mustoe Electrical). All other works, primarily that of the bowling green, were completed by our in-house team.

What’s a project without a few roadblocks to challenge us? Challenge accepted and overcome!

• Weather issues – this project was completed in winter. This tends to cause delays on site, which further delays other contractors from being able to complete their works.
• Most importantly, our focus in winter is getting the green completed prior to the pennant season commencing in Sept/Oct.
